Where we come from |
The Steamboat Springs Evangelical Free Church started in approximately 1990. Five couples who had previously attended Euzoa Bible Church got together out of a mutual desire to form a new congregational-rule church that would be evangelical and bible-based. They investigated various options and decided to request and subsequently receive assistance from the Rocky Mountain District of the Evangelical Free Church in starting a new congregation. In 2015 the congregation voted to change the name of the church to Steamboat Bible Church and remained affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America.

Where we're headed |
What really sets us apart is that we are committed to teaching and preaching through the books of the Bible, rather than preaching topically from the Bible. Not that we won't, from time to time, look at a topic from a biblical perspective, but primarily we preach through books of the bible. Why, you might ask, is that important? Preaching and teaching through the books of the Bible means that we cannot avoid difficult passages and difficult topics. We are committed to listening to what God has to say on every topic under the sun. We do this because we believe God's Word has the answer to all human problems.
