Date of Sermon:    April 19 2026

Title: One is NOT the Loneliest Number

Main Idea: In the Body of Christ, one is the ________________-est number.

Primary Passage:  Ephesians 4:1-6

Sermon Outline:
  • We are called to walk in a ________-worthy manner…
    • Ephesians 4:1 (ESV)
  • By moving toward each other in peaceful _________________;
    • Ephesians 4:2-3 (ESV)
  • Just as there is one _________, one Lord, and one Father, who makes all _______.
    • Ephesians 4:4-6 (ESV)

  • For next week’s message: Read and reflect on Ephesians 4:7-12.
Things to Consider: (Feel free to read Scripture passages that God brings to mind as you work through these questions)
  1. What about the sermon challenged, encouraged, or confused you? What, if anything, would you like further clarification on?
  2. When is one the loneliest number?
  3. How can more than one thing be one?
  4. When can one thing made up of many parts fail to work as one?
  5. How is the Body of Christ one?
  6. When does the Body of Christ, which is made up of many parts (i.e. individual Christians) fail to behave as one? Share some real life examples of when you have seen that be the case.
  7. What gets in the way of the Body of Christ behaving as one?
  8. What fosters oneness in the Body of Christ?
  9. What would foster oneness in SBC and what role can you play in making that happen?
