Pastor Dave grew up in the Dallas, Texas area and went to Texas Tech in Lubbock for his undergraduate degree in History. While there he met his future wife, Becky. They married in 1980. Dave went to Dallas Theological Seminary and graduated with a ThM in Historical Theology in 1989. By that time Dave and Becky had four children. Their first-born, Danny was killed in an accident while Dave was in seminary, but Rachel, Nathan and Joel have grown to maturity and continue to enrich their parent's lives in many ways.
Dave's first church was a small rural church in Danforth township, Minnesota. Through God's grace the church saw significant growth while Dave, Becky and the kids were there. He was pastor of the church in Danforth for six years.
God called the Tyrees to the eastern plains of Colorado, where Dave ministered to the people of the Crook United Evangelical Free Church. While Dave and Becky's family grew up and graduated from high school, God also caused the church to prosper and grow. They ministered there for sixteen years, 1994-2010, until God called them to new kind of ministry in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Brady grew up on a farm near the small town of Crook, CO. From elementary through college he enjoyed being involved in many activities through the Free Church in Crook including VBS, confirmation class, youth group, dramas, mission trips, and music ministry. After high school Brady was a leader with the campus student ministry at Northeastern Junior College. He transferred from Northeastern to Colorado State University completing a bachelor’s in Ag Business/Animal Science and later went on to the Master of Divinity program at Denver Seminary, graduating in December 2016. Seminary was a challenging yet wonderful experience for Brady. Growing in his relationship with Christ, studying and enjoying the Scriptures, conversing with classmates and professors, and developing friendships with people from different backgrounds was very fulfilling. Traveling to and from class on the public transportation system, he interacted with many fascinating people. He experienced urban culture while working part-time for a limousine company. Brady also had the opportunity to minister through several churches while at seminary. He was a youth leader at a church in Northglenn, CO, led junior high youth group at the church in Crook, and was a substitute for Sunday sermons here at Steamboat Bible Church. Brady currently leads the music ministry at our church, co-leads a Sunday worship service on the ski mountain, and helps with College Young Life at Colorado Mountain College.
