  • For the August 31st message: Read and reflect on Galatians 3:19-22.

Things to Consider: (Feel free to read Scripture passages that God brings to mind as you work through these questions)
  1. What about the sermon challenged, encouraged, or confused you? What, if anything, would you like further clarification on?
  2. What was a time when you experienced a windfall (an unexpected, unearned, or sudden gain or advantage) and how did it impact you?
  3. Knowing that you have received a windfall by your faith in Christ, how does it affect your view of the Mosaic Law or the notion of needing to work for righteousness?
  4. Knowing that the Law of Moses (works-based righteousness) is no longer in-force for us, that means we are free in Christ. So, we cannot out-sin God’s grace. But how might we abuse our freedom and what might be some ways to practically counter the temptation(s) to take God’s grace for granted?
  5. What impact does it have on our relationship with God when we take His grace for granted through willful sin, and what Scriptures support your view?
  6. How can we restore shalom back to our relationship with God in those times, and what Scriptures support your view?
